Adult Bat Sizes Explained

Short Handle (SH)

The standard adult size and the most popular choice for most players.

Short Blade (SB)

A great option for players who prefer a slightly shorter overall bat while keeping a full-length handle.

Long Blade (LB)

Designed for taller players who want additional blade length while maintaining excellent pickup.

Small Mens (SM)

Suits shorter adults, teenagers and many female players who want more control and comfort.

Choosing the Right Bat

Height is a great starting point, but the right bat also depends on your preferred pickup, batting style and personal feel. Every player is different, and the best bat is the one that feels comfortable and inspires confidence at the crease.

Still Unsure?

If you're unsure which size is right for you, get in touch before ordering. We're happy to recommend the best size and shape based on your height, playing style and preferences.

Professional Plus custom bat, common questions

How long will my custom bat take?+

Current lead time is 2 weeks from order to dispatch. When a grade is between willow deliveries the builder says so and shows when the next clefts land; your bat is made as soon as they do. We'll keep you updated along the way, and you'll get tracking as soon as it ships.

How do I choose my willow?+

Scroll up to the Choose your cleft step in the builder and tap the willow you love. It's added alongside your bat at no extra cost. Prefer us to pick for you? Leave it on Bat maker's pick.

What specs can I choose?+

Weight, shape, profile, handle and more. Everything is selected right on this page before you add to cart. If you're unsure, order anyway and we'll talk it through.

What if the bat doesn't feel right?+

Our Perfect Bat Guarantee has you covered: we'll reshape it free of charge within 30 days, you only cover shipping.

Can I watch my bat being made?+

Yes. Book the Bat Making Experience at JPG HQ in Sydney. Over about 90 minutes you'll work with Josh in the workshop and can take your bat home the same day.

What Makes Every JPGavan Bat Different?

Every JPGavan bat is individually handcrafted by the JPGavan team in Sydney using the same pressing, shaping, balancing and finishing process. The difference between each grade is the quality, appearance, density and rarity of the willow, not the craftsmanship. Whether you choose a Performance bat or a Featherblade, every bat receives the same care, attention to detail and commitment to performance.
