My story in bat making continues to grow. Beginning JPGavan in 2012 as a 16 year old high school student, selling Indian-made bats mainly to friends and some followers I had grown through a Youtube channel and facebook page, I launched JPGavan with the biggest bat in the world - the JPGavan Tyrant which was designed as a training aid (although many used it in games). I also sold a small amount of Indian-made English Willow bats but with little knowledge of the industry didn't know much about how to deal with small cracks and other general wear and tear on bats.
After completing the HSC in 2013 I travelled to India where I spent two weeks at a factory learning how to repair and reshape bats. This gave me a great base into starting to offer repair and trialling bat making in 2014 where I found a passion of working with clients to create a bat that suits them and giving the rare experience of watching it happen.
Over the years I've continued to work on and improve my bat making and repairing. I worked as head repairer at Kingsgrove Sports for 18 months where I gained great knowledge not only into the repairs but how to do a lot of them in short time but also to do them well. Since 2015 I have worked with professional cricketers and continue to rely on their feedback into the quality of my repair work and bat making.
JPGavan Cricket is my passion and life's work and I hope to continue serving the cricket community and building my business.
All our custom made bats are proudly and officially made in Sydney, Australia!
