Buying a second hand bat

Is it a genuine JPGavan?

Stickers can be bought on their own. Check the bat, not just the stickers, then enter its number below.

Four things to look for

How to spot a genuine bat

A genuine bat carries more than a sticker set. Check all four before you pay.

JPGavan edge engraving

The JPGavan name is laser engraved into the edge of the bat. It is burnt into the willow, so it cannot be added with a sticker set.

Test and Professional Plus grade name plate stickers

Grade name plate sticker

The grade name plate sits on the front of the bat at the top of the splice. On some bats it sits under the grip, so roll the grip down to check.

This is the sticker on current sets. Older bats may show the grade in a different spot.

Made by JPGavan sticker

Bats made in our Sydney workshop carry a Made by JPGavan sticker on the top of the handle.

Bats from our made in India range carry a JPG sticker at the top of the handle instead. The JPG sticker also comes in our sticker sets, so on its own it does not prove a bat is genuine.

Then look it up

Number on the knob

We usually write a number on the knob at the top of the handle, under the grip. Roll the grip back to see it.

No number on the knob? Use the order number from the original buyer's receipt, or send us photos of the four spots above.

A sticker set on its own is not a JPGavan bat

We sell JPGavan sticker sets, so the stickers can appear on bats we did not make. The edge engraving and the number are the checks to rely on.
